Her style realistic, her touch unique, Jackie Sevier is making her mark.As an enrolled member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe, she is proud of her Native American heritage. Legends and traditions of her native Wind River Reservation in Wyoming are often subjects for her unique works of art.

Now residing in the heart of the Nebraska Sandhills near the small community of Seneca, her family encourages her to develop her talent and career at every opportunity.

Continuing to study, Jackie credits, “the greats who have taken me under their wing and not only taught technique but expression, dedication, and determination”. Some of these people have been Reynold Brown, King Kuka and Benjamin Harjo, Jr.

Whatever the subject, Jackie seeks first to speak her soul and spirit through visual art. Her primary medium is pastel. Embossed paper with gold leaf accent has become a strong addition. A series of collector editions are now available with select limited numbers. Original mixed media works incorporate smoked paper, sinew, beads and horse or buffalo hair to create tiny replicas of traditional Northern Plains attire. Jackie’s works can be found in private, corporate and university collections throughout the United States and in Japan, Australia, Germany and Great Britain.
